About Carlos Barrera
Study first, deeply. Then make it my own.
I'm autistic, and it shapes how I work in ways my clients benefit from. When something has my attention, it has all of it — that's why I studied bio-organic for a year before I'd touch skin with it, why I went to Japan and accepted "practice for a year, then come back" as an answer, and why I'll redo a piece twice if my standard has risen since I started it. Obsessive attention to detail isn't something I switch on for work. It's how I'm built.
My goal with every client is simple: that you trust me to create for you, and that trust is never misplaced.
A year with books before my first bio-organic piece. A year of practice after two masters in Japan turned me away, before continuing my traditional Japanese training in the States. Three years focused on floral before I'd call it one of my styles. And a full freehand sleeve I redid twice because my standard rose faster than the piece did.
If that sounds like the kind of attention you want on your skin, book a consultation — in person or remote.
